How it's worked out
We add the hours to this exact moment and read the result on your device's clock, in your time zone. Because real elapsed time is added, daylight saving changes are handled: 3 hours after 11:30 PM on the night the clocks go back is 1:30 AM, not 2:30 AM.
Everything is calculated in your browser from your device's clock, so the answer is right wherever you are. Without JavaScript, the calculator opens the page for the number of hours you enter.

Frequently asked questions
How do you work out the time N hours from now?
We take the current moment, add the hours, and show the result on your device's clock in your own time zone. It updates every minute while the page is open.
What happens if the clocks change in between?
The answer follows real elapsed time. If the clocks go back an hour overnight, 3 hours after 11:30 PM is 1:30 AM rather than 2:30 AM; if they spring forward, it's 3:30 AM. We point it out whenever a change falls inside your span.
Why does the calculator stop at 168 hours?
168 hours is exactly one week. For longer spans it's easier to count in days — try the days-from-today calculator instead.
