Which countries are covered?
244 countries and territories with published holiday rules, plus the United States, which has its own detailed pages with observances and federal observed dates.
Are regional and state holidays included?
Yes. Where a country has regional days — German states, Swiss cantons, Spanish communities, UK nations — each year page lists them with the regions that observe them, and you can filter the list by region.
How are working days and long weekends worked out?
We use each country's own weekend (Friday and Saturday in some countries) and take out the nationwide holidays that land on working days. Long weekends are runs of three or more days off; we also show where one extra day off makes four or more.
